This Luxury Pools & Outdoor Living (Luxurypools.net.au) build in Copacabana NSW has been landscaped and designed to work with a difficult area.
The entertainment cabana with BBQ area has been designed to work with both the area & existing house.
The spa spills over to the pool to help navigate down towards the sloping ground.
The pool itself is designed to take advantage of the water views and works with the existing topography of the ground.
The dual access stairs help migration between the pool and firepit on both sides providing texture & personality change by adding Corten steel stairs on one side with wood deck stairs on the other.
After that the sandstone stairs graduate down from the firepit to the lower road and retaining wall allowing the landscaping grounds to be reclaimed as "naturally fitting the environment" while at the same time adding a useful transition.
The lower block retaining wall combines longevity to the wall while at the same time minimizing space loss with a vertical face. The lower section in this build is "not street" appeal based, as it is an easement area, as opposed to a neighbouring high traffic zone and does not require to be a feature wall.
Copacabana is an extremely hard location to build with steep topography, difficult to access sites, rock and many government & environmental challenges. Also because the area is a medium to high socioeconomic & sought after location many owners/neighbors are A type people, meaning that they are not shy to put in their complaints about other buildings or proposed building works in the area.
Due to the nature of the area this build design and our consequent development application has considered privacy, best use of land, minimal impact on the area, retention of native look, using the overall aesthetics of the area rather than conflicting with the area.
