The husband, a fitness enthusiast, envisioned a sleek 25-metre concrete pool designed for vigorous lap swimming, catering to his passion for health & wellness. His wife, on the other hand, dreamed of a retreat where she could lounge poolside with friends, surrounded by daybed-style seating. The couple also needed to accommodate their children, their children's friends, & their own vibrant social gatherings. Essential to this vision were state-of-the-art features that epitomised both functionality & indulgence. The goal was to make both of our client’s dual dreams come true.

The design for this property emerged from a meticulous investigation into the site's unique challenges, carefully balanced with the owner's long-term aspirations. The clients had diverse inspirations & were in no way bound by any singular external influence. Instead, they drew from years of idea curation on platforms like Instagram, coupled with our own extensive experience in design & construction. This collective approach has culminated in a distinctive & individualised outdoor living space.

At its heart are two interconnected pools with a mesmerising spillover edge, fully tiled in exquisite 145 x 145 porcelain Waterline tiles by RMS Traders that capture the allure of Sukabumi stone. In a masterstroke of innovation, we designed the pools to cascade into the ground on previously unusable hillside. These two pools pay homage to the diverse needs of our husband & wife duo in the original brief. The existing house was masterfully renovated & extended to create a harmonious flow with the new pool & outdoor living spaces.

This extensive transformation included the addition of two new bedrooms, a sophisticated butler's pantry, a modernised kitchen, dining & lounge areas, an alfresco & BBQ area, a welcoming entryway & a spacious garage, among other luxurious enhancements.

Taking inspiration from the raw elegance of nature with an aesthetic that blends earth-toned materials such as rich stone, warm wood, deep blacks, browns, greens & greys. These organic hues are then seamlessly complemented by the robust structural integrity of steel, concrete & blockwork.

The perfect union of soft-scaping to hero the hard-scaping of the blue steel stonework from Haus Collection is another visual drawcard. Stone-clad tiered garden beds and waterproofed poolside planter boxes are fully irrigated for effortless maintenance, ensuring lasting beauty with minimal upkeep. The plant selection embodies a timeless European aesthetic, seamlessly integrating classical design principles with a curated selection of coastal shrubs and ground covers.

At its heart, two magnificent Ole europea (European olive trees), each over 50 years old, stand as living sculptures within the pool's planter boxes. Their gnarled trunks and silvery foliage harmonise effortlessly with the surrounding natural stone cladding, creating a sense of permanence and elegance.

A carefully chosen palette of silvery hues and deep greens enhances the refined tones of the Italian porcelain tiles lining the pool's interior. The planting design prioritises texture and movement, with a layered approach that balances structure and softness.

The interplay of fine-textured foliage, sculptural forms, and cascading ground covers lends depth and contrast to the space, creating a pool side garden that is both sophisticated and resilient-perfectly suited to the coastal environment.
